About Me
I’m Allison Hoyos, an illustrator with a passion for storytelling through imagery. I specialize in children’s book illustrations and magazine covers where I bring imagination to life with a blend of vibrant detail.
I grew up between the colorful culture of Colombia and the fast-paced energy of New York, and both places deeply inspire my work. That dual identity taught me to see the world from multiple perspectives—something I try to reflect in every piece I create.
I earned my degree in Illustration and Digital Design from the University of Hartford where I honed my skills in both traditional and digital media. My artistic process is rooted in mixed media—I often combine digital techniques, graphite, ink, and sometimes a splash of texture from unexpected sources. I love creating pieces that feel tactile and alive, even on a screen or printed page.
Whether I'm working on a whimsical character for a picture book or crafting a bold concept for a magazine cover, I aim to make art that sparks wonder, connects emotionally and tells a story.
Starting this September, I’m excited to take on a new chapter: working as an art teacher assistant in Madrid, Spain. I see this as a chance to grow not just as an artist, but also to inspire creativity in others and learn from a new cultural environment.
Thank you so much for taking the time to explore my work. If my style speaks to you, or you have a project in mind, I’d love to hear from you.
Let’s create something beautiful together.
